The Pink Army Race “Me Against Cancer” turned the Malecón of Culiacán and Parque Las Riberas bright pink. More than 1,600 people gathered at sunrise to run, walk and embrace a cause that speaks of hope, love and solidarity in Sinaloa.
A pink morning by the Tamazula River
Dawn in Culiacán had a special glow. Very early in the morning, entire families began arriving at the Malecón, in the Parque Las Riberas area, in the heart of Culiacán, Sinaloa, all wearing their pink Pink Army Race “Me Against Cancer” shirts.

Women, men, girls, boys and young people came together with the same purpose: to support, accompany and send a message of hope to those who are facing cancer.
More than 1,600 participants walked and ran the 3, 5 and 10-kilometer routes, turning this stretch of the city into a human river of positive energy, right next to the Tamazula River, one of Culiacán’s most emblematic landscapes.
Pink Army: running with your heart
With the first rays of the sun, the course filled with music, applause and smiles. The warm-up began amid hugs, photos and those beautiful pre-race nerves before hearing the starting shot. The atmosphere was full of hope, of that shared feeling of believing it’s possible and trying together.
This year, the excitement also had a touch of nostalgia. Many people dedicated their effort to loved ones who are no longer here. In particular, Itzel Navidad was remembered, a true warrior whose example of courage and solidarity remains alive in every step taken in this race. Her spirit is present in the pink tree of good wishes, where runners leave messages of love, gratitude and strength.
