Know by Virtual Reality the Quinta Minera Hotel

There is little information about who built this estate and in what year. It is said that around 1690, a group of Spaniards who were extracting various minerals in the surroundings of Cosalá built it. The facilities included an assay office and a metal laboratory.

History of the Quinta Minera Hotel

Afterward, Don Rosendo de la Madrid, one of the first owners of the ‘Nuestra Señora’ mine, acquired and inhabited this building. Later, it was sold to Don Eduardo Arnold, a foreign miner whom I had the opportunity to meet as a child in the year 1946, as I collaborated with his wife, Mrs. Esperanza de Arnold.

I remember that the place where Hotel Quinta Minera is currently located was the best and largest construction in the town located on the outskirts of Cosalá. Later on, it became populated and now lies within the same town of Cosalá.

In the year 2007, I had the opportunity to acquire this beautiful place, that I admired and longed for since I was a child. Never did I imagine at any point in my life having such a lovely place.

Restaurante Hotel Quinta Minera

In the year 1950, it was acquired by Don Juan N. Pereda, and for the first time, it operated as a hotel.

With Greta affection and creativity, it was remodeled to build 50 rooms, 5 suites, a restaurant, and an events hall named ‘El Portal de los Mineros’.

This place remains the largest construction of its kind in Cosalá. Hotel Quinta Minera has a basement that used to be the warehouse where gold and silver bars were stored ready for shipment.

During the hotel’s restoration, the Governors’ Hall was also created. On its main wall are inscribed the names of all the governors that Sinaloa has had since 1824 to the present.

I am excited that you visit the Pueblo Mágico of Cosalá. This is my hometown, to which I hold a great deal of affection, where my childhood memories are, the place of my roots and my people, where I learned to love and respect my land.
